16/52 Amazing!

I think dogs are the most amazing creatures; they give unconditional love.
For me they are the role model for being alive.  ~Gilda Radner

13/52 Beware of the guard dog.

A watchdog is a dog kept to guard your home, usually by sleeping where a burglar
would awaken the household by falling over him.

8/52 London Lad

While exploring Portobello Road in West London this past week with the family, we quickly befriended a store owner with the smallest pup we have ever seen. This is Rocky, a mini Yorkie. I think he weighs all of 3 pounds and he was adorable. The red reminds me of all phone booths and  double decker buses you see everywhere around London.
I think the kids wanted to pack him away in their suitcase and bring him home!

7/52 You cannot travel the path...

until you have become the path itself!
Buddah

This week I photographed Nellie Groth at the Libertyville train station for Hometown Hounds.
She is a beautiful, very well behaved Bernese Mountain dog.  So big and full of love.
Remember little doggie, there are many paths, but only one journey!

but few will catch your heart...Pursue those!

5/52 Beautiful landscape.

A lake is the landscape's most beautiful and expressive feature.  It is earth's eye; looking into which the beholder measures the depth of his own nature.  ~Henry David Thoreau

4/52 Rough and Tuff...

Tuffy DeLude

Although she looks like a princess, don't let that fool you.
She was always exploring and always on the move. She only sat when bribed with treats.
Lots of them!
She was one of the toughest shoots I've had!
I guess that's why they named her "Tuffy."

3/52 Ebony and Ivory...

together in perfect harmony.

Ok, so it's really Simon and Winston.
I photographed these guys for next years Hometown Hounds last week at Adler Park.
Simon is an adorable scruffy terrier pup that didn't really like to sit...at all.
Winston is a regal and beautiful English golden retreiver who was a bit better at sitting...but not by much.

2/52 If the shoes fits...

buy lots of them!

My daughter Taylor loves shoes. Lots of shoes.  I want to remember her little feet in all her cute shoes, before they aren't so little anymore.
Good thing I don't have to buy shoes for Finn.

this must be worth two thousand.

This is the first of my 52 photos. It's only fair that it be of Finley.
